While at Albright Michael had the opportunity to compete as a pitcher for the Albright Lions earning Pre-Season All American Honors and co-captaining the Lions during both his Junior and Senior seasons. NISMAT was named after the late James A. Nicholas who was the founder and Director until 2006.

The philosophies of care at NISMAT are based from the broad philosophies underpinned Dr. Nicholas’s approach to sports medicine: the “seven Ps” and the concept of linkage. The seven Ps refer to performer, performance, pathology, practitioner, prescription, practice, and prevention.

While at this esteemed Institute, Michael has had the opportunity to publish multiple peer-reviewed research studies in the area of sports medicine; including several in the American Journal of Sports Medicine. Michael has over 30 published abstracts for various medical conferences, co-authored two book chapters, publish multiple non-peer reviewed articles, he authored a home study chapter on “Rehab following a Bankart Repair”, and Edited “Prevention of Sports Injuries” a Home Study Course for the Sports Physical Therapy Section of the American Physical Therapy Association.
